2.4 Text Messages (SMS)

When you give us your mobile number on the contact form at blackridgeplatforms.com and tick the optional box, you are consenting to receive text messages from BlackRidge Platforms about your project and future projects. Ticking the box is entirely optional. You can send the form without it, we will still get back to you, and agreeing to texts is never a condition of contacting us, of using our services, or of buying anything from us. If you would rather not be texted, leave the box unticked.

What we send: replies to your enquiry, follow-up about a quote or project you asked us about, appointment and scheduling confirmations, and notices about work we are doing for you. We do not send marketing or promotional campaigns to numbers collected through the form. Message frequency varies with your conversation with us.

Texting us first: if you text our business number, that is your request for a reply by text about what you asked, and we reply there. Some replies are drafted by an automated assistant under our direction; what it cannot answer goes to a person, and you can ask for one at any time. We keep the texts as a record.

Cost: message and data rates may apply and are charged by your mobile carrier. BlackRidge Platforms does not charge you for text messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and is not guaranteed.

Stopping messages: reply STOP to any message to stop all further texts. You will receive one confirmation and nothing after that. Reply HELP for help, or email chris@blackridgeplatforms.com. Opting out of text messages does not close your account and does not stop transactional email such as invoices and security alerts.

We never sell or share your information. Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are never sold, rented or traded, and are never shared with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes. Text-messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from every category of information sharing described in Section 4 of this policy. The only other parties that ever handle your number or your messages are the messaging provider that delivers them and the AI service that helps draft assistant replies, each on our instructions only and for nothing else.

Where consent is given

We collect consent to text you in two places. One is the contact form on blackridgeplatforms.com, where the tick box sits directly beneath the phone number field: it starts unticked, nothing on the form requires it, and the form submits either way. The other is you texting our business number yourself, which is consent to a reply by text about what you asked and nothing more. We do not buy phone numbers, we do not accept them from third parties, and we never start a text conversation with a number that did not tick the box.

Texting with our assistant

Some replies to texts from clients are drafted by an automated assistant working under our direction. It answers from the record of your project, hands anything it cannot answer to a person, and you can ask for a person at any time. Your texts and our replies are kept as a record of what was discussed. The assistant runs on a third-party AI service that processes the conversation only on our instructions and does not use it for its own purposes.
